The short version
Most tools on this site run entirely inside your web browser. For those, the files and text you work with are never sent anywhere — there is no upload, and therefore nothing for us to store, read or lose. Tools that do require a server are listed below, and what they receive is deleted after processing.
Tools that never send your data anywhere
The finance calculators, file and folder comparison, JSON tools, the hash generator, the Markdown viewer and the stored-procedure flowchart all run as code in your browser. Whatever you type or open stays on your own machine. You can verify this: open your browser's network inspector and use any of them — no requests are made.
Tools that process files on a server
Some tasks cannot run in a browser — video and audio conversion, PDF processing, OCR and media downloads among them. For those, the file you choose is uploaded, processed, and returned to you. Uploaded files and their outputs are deleted from the server after processing and are not retained, inspected, backed up or shared.
Please do not upload material you are not permitted to share, or which is confidential to someone else.
What we store in your browser
The site uses your browser's local storage to remember your theme choice and your recently used and pinned paths. This is stored on your device, is not transmitted to us, and clearing your browser data removes it.
Cookies and advertising
If advertising is enabled on this site, it is served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors including Google use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and other sites.
You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor cookies via aboutads.info. Most browsers additionally let you block cookies entirely.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled, they are used only to understand which tools are used and to find broken pages. They are never combined with the contents of the files or text you process.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

This policy may be updated as the site changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
